lies

Being back in Hamburg/Germany I find myself exactly doing the same job I did one year ago. Running the drop-in for homeless people in the center of the red-light district and telling about Jesus during open-airs.

I love it.

The problem is that it feels like nothing has changed. Feels like I haven't been away, like I haven't learned loads about God during my year at the War College.

It's a lie. I know it. But it's hard not to allow Satan to draw you back. Not to go with the crowd and walk in what was totally normal a year ago.

I have higher standards now. I want more now.

Yes, you have "higher standards now" - and I guess you are also used to them RISING - what they probably can't always do as fast as they did at the War College. Therefore you might need to learn living in other places - without being disappointed.
??
Hang on & be blessed!

Dear Esther,
I am sure you are not the only one that has heard this lie. Know that you don't have to recieve it. I have seen a huge change in you in not even knowing you as well as i wanted to. But I see the heart that desires to please God almost bursting through you. What is the Salvo song that says"...something,something, NEVER TIRE" ? Something like work for Jesus, never tire? Anyways, I feel like it is another tactic of the enemy to split you seven different ways, and tire you out.
Love, b

ESTHER!!!
What an awesome way to reconnect with people you were ministering to last year! I've had a taste in London, but then am moving on to Bangor...remember, the world is in upheaval, but the LOVE of Christ is constant, and unchanging. May you wade deeper in His love as you pour it out over others! Much grace. Aurora

Good eyes to see the enemies scheme, sister - he doesn't do anything new...do you have intercessors praying on your behalf now that you've been deployed?
Would you like one?

The line that Beracah is referring to is from SASB #696, verse 3

"Warriors of the risen King
Great Army of salvation,
spread His fame, His praises sing and conquer EVERY nation.
Raise the glorious standard HIGHER, work for victory NEVER TIRE;
Forward march with BLOOD and FIRE and win the WORLD for Jesus.
Storm the forts of darkness bring them down! (bring them down)
Storm the forts of darkness bring them down! (bring them down)
Pull down the devil's kingdom, where'er he holds dominion;
Storm the forts of darkness bring them down.
Glory, honour to the Lamb
Praise and power to the Lamb
Glory, honour, praise and power be forever to the Lamb.

It's the Death and Glory essential!

Esther! I haven't had time to keep up with the blogging community lately - you write well on this subject. I like your approach. Straight refusal to listen to lies. Hang with the truth, Esther, God is going to continue to do a great work in your life - in you and through you. Take care - we miss you at The Caring Place so much!
