questionable conversions
"...not only have the salvations been minimal but the quality has discouraged me also. Many of the conversions that we hear about today are queconverted are questionable. We should not only ask if people are saved, but what are they saved to? What are they converted to?
I believe that you are better off to let a person live in sin than to let him have some phony salvation experience, and make him believe that he is a Christian when he is nothing of the kind. So it is no just quantity but quality that we are looking for."

(Cory Harrison after Catherine Booth "Aggressive Christianity)
Could the pressure for high statistics concerning conversions be a reason for half-hearted conversions at our fronts?

When does a man become fully "converted"? Isn't conversion the process of working out one's salvation?
I shudder at the idea of judging the "quality" of another man's conversion. I prefer instead to walk along beside him, hoping to help him see the difference between meat and milk. The church used to call this "discipling".
My own conversion is an ongoing process. I hope that I'm being converted or molded into the man God wants me to be. I hope I'm being molded into a Christian. As of now I can only claim to be a believer and hope that God will look back on my life and call me a Christian. Hopefully there will be other believers along the way, willing to walk alongside me, allowing me to learn from their mistakes.
